My name is Janeen Aakkula and I was born and lived most of my life in Scotland. We lived in the countyside and I was always surrounded by dogs and many other animals including my fox and roe deer. I bought my first German shepherd dog when I was 19. I attended an obedience club and went to dog shows. I also bred some litters during the following years.
I attended college and gained my certificate in Veterinary nursing. Also in animal care. At the same time I met my Finnish husband and after a few years we moved to Finland as a family with our four kids and brought along my last old dog. Sadly she died a couple of years later and I found myself in the very strange situation of having no dogs!! I decided to look into what dogs were available and was surprised to find that white shepherds were an accepted breed under FCI. This was a dream come true as I'd always loved white shepherds but in the UK Kennel Club they were not considered to be a 'proper' breed in their own right. I attended a few shows and searched through as many websites, photos & info as I could find. Finally I found the male pup I wanted in June 2006 and in June 2007 I bought my chosen bitch puppy. First and foremost our dogs are family members. We will attend some dog shows and hope to get involved in other 'doggie' activities with them. Our aim :- To produce beautiful, healthy, intelligent puppies of strong character and excellent temperament. Our motto :- " Quality not Quantity ". Our prayer :- That present and future breeders will try to maintain the natural beauty of this breed and never, ever allow the fate which has befallen the German Shepherd. In my opinion this noble breed has been reduced 'by some' to a curved spined, hinge-backed dog with hideous hind angles where stifle almost touches the ground producing the most ridiculus triangular outline. FROM THIS:-
TO THIS.

My favourite animal has always been the wolf. However, these are animals which should be wild and free therefore to me the shepherd breed was my 'domestic wolf'! Now there are the lovely wolfdog breeds too but I'm affraid I'm hooked on shepherds, even though it's now the 'arctic wolf' coloured ones!!!

Thanks to Jana & Pavlina for letting me have these lovely dogs.
Thanks to Karolina & Suski for help with getting the dogs to me.
Thanks to Tiina & Riitta for help and advice with the Finnish system/requirements for WSSD's & Hanna at Finnish kennel club.
Thanks to all the people who have come to talk to me in English ( as my Finnish is very poor )! Please, if you see me around, at shows etc, come and introduce yourself, I'm always more than happy to meet new friends!
And finally, thanks to the many people who have complimented my dogs at shows and when I'm out and about with them. To me this is of greater value than a first place at a show.
